HAMSA Alaich
Bridal Course
For this look, I drew inspiration from the jewelry of Jewish brides in Arab and North African countries. The Hamsa, fish, bird, and crescent are symbols of fertility and health, which the bride adorns herself with on her wedding day. I aimed to bring a modern twist to these stunning objects, often viewed as outdated or primitive. They represent the story of a fascinating jewish life that perished. Using satin, I created a dress that is also a piece of jewelry, with gold embroidery outlining each shape.
